Meet Dr. Norman Coates
Dr. Norman Coates holds a B.A. from Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts. He earned his D.M.D. from Fairleigh-Dickinson University School of Dental Medicine in Hackensack, New Jersey in 1978. His early professional experience was acquired in the public health sector as a member of the United States Public Health Service. As director of dental services at Community Health Services (CHS), Dr. Coates co-authored a book on school-based dental programs. In conjunction with his work with CHS, he founded a community dental center in Worcester, Massachusetts that has since grown into a full service facility with departments in optometry, social services, mental health and general medical care.
In 1983, Dr. Coates opened a dental office in his hometown of Worcester, Massachusetts and remained there in the practice of general dentistry until his relocation to St. Paul, Minnesota. He has been a member of this community since 1990 where he added geriatric dental care to his widening professional interests. Since beginning private practice in Highland Park 20 years ago, Dr. Coates continues to dedicate himself to the challenge of providing dental care to the community he has come to call his own. His ever-expanding armamentarium of skill-sets include implant placement, CEREC crowns, rotary endodontics, all-ceramic bridges, exodontia, tooth-colored fillings, and all the traditional services one expects of a state of the art modern dental practice. Dr. Norman Coates has been recognized for the quality of his care by a local publication for the past two years.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association (MDA), the MDA House of Delegates, the Chicago Dental Society, and serves on the executive council of the St. Paul District Dental Society.
His continuing education credits are numerous and his pursuit of additional learning and self-improvement is boundless.
Meet Dr. Julio Heller
Dr. Heller attended Louisiana State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. He received a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Marquette University in 1989. Dr. Heller is a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, and St. Paul District Dental Society.
Dr. Heller is proud to serve patients in the local St. Paul community with the help of his dedicated and experienced staff. Through continuing education and state-of-the-art equipment, he offers expert care to you and your family. His team will give you a warm welcome and become an integral part of your ongoing dental health. Dr. Heller specializes in Invisalign- the clear alternative to braces, CEREC- one visit dental crowns, rotary endodontics, and all other dental procedures. Dr. Heller is a native of Peru and welcomes all Spanish speaking patients.
After graduating from Marquette Dental School, Dr. Heller accepted a four year commitment to the United States Navy. While serving our country, he had the privilege to participate in both Operation Desert Storm and Operation Desert Shield. He met his wife, Mary, in dental school. She received her Master's degree in orthodontics and currently practices in Eagan and Cottage Grove. They are proud parents of two very active boys. Matt and Will are involved in multiple sports that keep them running all year. As proud parents, they race to attend most, if not all, of the never ending games.
Meet Dr. Laura Howley
Dr. Howley attended the University of St. Thomas for her undergraduate degree, and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Minnesota in 2009. After dental school, she completed a General Practice Residency at Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI. Dr. Howley joined Associated Dentists in the summer of 2010. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentists.
Dr. Howley strives to provide a fun and relaxing environment while delivering individualized dental treatment. She values meeting and interacting with patients of all ages in hopes to build trust and relationships with them over time. Dr. Howley will take care of your dental needs by providing a wide range of services including CEREC one visit crowns, implant dentistry, TMJ consults, tooth colored fillings, and all other procedures expected at a contemporary dental office. Dr. Howley attends many continuing dental education courses to remain current in the newest dental technology, providing cutting edge dental care for her patients.
Dr. Howley was born and raised in Stevens Point, WI. She is the second oldest of a family of four. Her close family has brought her a life filled with love, excitement, and much support. She enjoys staying busy doing yoga, running, water skiing, and traveling. She is a firm believer that laughter with family and friends is the world's best medicine.
Meet Dr. Douglas Keim
Dr. Keim is a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1967. Since that time he has practiced General Dentistry in Falcon Heights and Roseville.
He is a member of the St. Paul District Dental Society, the Minnesota Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He has held leadership positions in each of these organizations. In addition, he is a member of the Chicago Dental Society. He holds fellowships in the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists and membership in the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Dr. Keim continues to pursue dental educational opportunities and has received additional training in cosmetic dentistry at Minnesota's School of Dentistry and in practice management at the Pride Institute.
His goal is to help his patients achieve excellent oral and general health, function and appearance through patient education and treatment. He strives to honor the trust his patients have placed in him.
Dr. Keim and his wife, Anne, enjoy traveling, both foreign and domestic. Keeping up with the ever changing world of technology is also a fascinating and enjoyable hobby.
Meet Dr. Sam LaChance
Dr. Sam LaChance is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a degree in Zoology. He went on to the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, and St. Paul District Dental Association. He has furthered his education with training in CEREC dentistry, offering patients esthetic porcelain crowns in one appointment.
Dr. LaChance focuses his practice on oral health education and makes it a priority that his patients understand the procedures they are having done. He enjoys meeting new patients and providing the highest quality dental care. He takes great pride in improving his patient's quality of life through necessary and esthetic dental procedures. He makes sure patients are comfortable and relaxed during each dental visit.
Dr. LaChance and his wife met in Northern Wisconsin on a water ski show team. These days they spend much less time building water ski pyramids and more time raising their two young daughters here in St Paul. Dr. LaChance enjoys fishing and water skiing in his free time.
Meet Dr. Barbra Lee
It's hard to believe I've been practicing dentistry for 22 years; time does fly when you are having fun! I get tremendous satisfaction from my work, while appreciating the ultimate
flexibility provided by this profession. From preschoolers to geriatrics, I enjoy the wide variety which makes every day as a dentist a new adventure. It is the relationships that develop over the years with so many wonderful people that make this one of the most satisfying professions around. I find it extremely gratifying to be able to treat the most phobic patients that have great difficulty just walking though the clinic doors. And when they thank me at the end of the appointment, I know I'm in the right profession. I've always tended to be "the perfectionist" and detail-oriented which suits the technical and
artistic aspects of dentistry well, but not always my husband and children so well!
While I'm originally from New York and have always enjoyed the arts and culture, my current cultural outings are the many events, games and concerts at Henry Sibley High School and Friendly Hills Middle School where my 4 children attend school. My personal hobbies include travel, especially to visit family out East, yoga, hiking and adventures in food. My husband of almost 20 years and I still appreciate a quiet dinner for 2.
Meet Dr. David Miller
Dr. Miller is a graduate of the University of Minnesota where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1977. He practiced general dentistry in Minneapolis for two years and since then has been here at Associated Dentists in St. Paul.
Dr. Miller has been a member of the St. Paul District Dental Society, the Minnesota Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Miller strives to make his patients visits very comfortable and relaxed. He is a good listener and helps his patients understand their options and the treatment they choose. He works hard and takes pride in delivering the highest quality dental care. His dental skills include all facets of restorative dentistry, CEREC one-day ceramic crowns, exodontia, occlusion and TMJ consults, periodontal treatments, and cosmetic dental procedures.
Dr. Miller and his wife, Cathryn, have two children who have kept them busy for many years. The family is involved in church activities and sings in choirs. Dr. Miller loves the outdoors, takes care of the gardens and the house, and likes to bike, canoe, go boating, and hike in the woods.
Meet Dr. R. David Resch
Dr. Resch is a graduate of Gustavus Aldolphus College with degrees in both chemistry and psychology. Dr. Resch went on to the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery. He has been in private practice in the field of general dentistry since 1978.
He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, the St. Paul District Dental Association, is an associate member of the Chicago Dental Society and a member of the Organization for Sterilization and Aseptic Procedures (OSAP), an international organization that emphasizes infection control in dentistry. Dr. Resch is past President of the St. Paul District Dental Society and holds several leadership roles with the Minnesota Dental Association.
In addition to serving in organized dentistry, he has lectured in the field of Infection Control and OSHA regulations, both regionally and at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in their Continuing Dental Education Program. Dr. Resch continues to strive for excellence in his profession through participation in continuing dental education and is dedicated to improving the oral and systemic health of his patients and transforming their smiles.
Dr. Resch's hobbies include sailing, hockey, and golf.
Meet Dr. Stacy Shearen
Dr. Shearen attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, where she majored in biology. She then went on to the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Upon completion of her DDS degree, Dr. Shearen entered private practice in the field of general dentistry.
Dr. Shearen is a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association and the St. Paul District Dental Society. She frequently attends continuing dental education courses to advance her clinical skills and oral health knowledge in order to provide the best possible dental care each patient deserves.
Dr. Shearen focuses on comprehensive, quality care for patients of all ages. She values patient service and honest dentistry with a gentle touch. Always willing to take the extra time to listen, educate and encourage, Dr. Shearen will ensure that each patient understands the condition of their oral health and any procedures that need to be performed.
Dr. Shearen enjoys traveling, camping, cooking, and reading.
Meet Dr. Richard Wiberg
Dr. Wiberg attended St. John's University for his undergraduate degree. He was a graduate from the University Of Minnesota School Of Dentistry in 1966. Dr. Wiberg has been practicing general dentistry in Roseville since 1970. He is a member of the St. Paul District Dental Society, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He has held leadership positions in each of these organizations. Dr. Wiberg was also former president of the MDA.
Dr. Wiberg has perused postgraduate training in many dental areas including endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and occlusion. He continues to take additional dental educational courses to ensure that he has kept abreast of the treatment advances occurring in his profession.
Dr. Wiberg's personal life revolves around his family: his wife, Karen, three children, and three grandsons. For recreation, he attempts to play golf and takes an occasional trip.
Meet Dr. Riley Bosch
Dr. Bosch graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in Biochemistry. While at St. Thomas, he was team captain and Academic All-American on the baseball team. Dr. Bosch then went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, and the St. Paul District Dental Society.
Dr. Bosch focuses on listening to his patients and delivering a comfortable and pain-free dental experience. He enjoys learning the newest technology and techniques in family and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Bosch performs all aspects of general dentistry including esthetic dentistry, tooth-colored fillings, CEREC crowns, implant dentistry, and endodontics.
Dr. Bosch and his wife, Jayme, enjoy staying active, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Bosch enjoys being outdoors and playing golf in his free time.
